I found this on kindle unlimited and I’ve always been curious to read it. So far so good.

Ordered the hardcover of this- wherever this year and beyond takes me within social work- it’ll be in any office space I inhabit.

Wasn’t expecting a kids poem book to make me cry, but I was also a kid who wrote poems and a lot of my poems sounded like hers.

Holocaust literature always makes me feel queasy and weak with probably ancestral trauma. Reading this, I can’t help but see the juxtaposition between occupation then and the Gaza Strip occupation now. History doesn’t necessarily repeat itself exactly but the unhealed traumas do.

Ah here we go. This is good

This is good for science fiction thriller but I wasn’t in the mood for this kind of suspense this week. It is too suspenseful to quit reading so 👏 to the author for that

“From where I stand- a lot of good things in this world are destroyed by simple men”. Second book of the New Year about struggling to just be a woman over here. Maybe it’s smash the patriarchy January, except this was also my December theme.

Smashing the patriarch in small ways.

This book asks “is the author very much like their writing” and I just love this question. I will be asking it every book I read now. Also this is a slow moving mellow chill book that feels like a warm winter blanket. I bought it on audio as well to keep me warm while doing my dog walking job.

Book about books. An ode to books even, so many good titles referenced. Books about books are meta cozy.
