Listened to this for a few hours while planting my tomatoes. This one feels like it’s gonna be really good!

Ooo this one’s getting good!

The reader was given big plot reveals at the beginning of the book and it feels like we’re just waiting and waiting for the characters to put the pieces together themselves.

Not perfect by any means, but I’m definitely sucked in to the story!

Took me a while to get into the story, but now I’m hooked. Not a huge fan of the writing, but here’s to hoping it improves as the series progresses. Whether it does or not, I think this will be a great series.

I don’t know why this is bugging me so much, but the dialogue in this book is written so.. robotically? How do I even describe it? When people talk they abbreviate, and the characters don’t do that in this book. It’s very “I am sorry” “she is okay” “I do not know” but I’m wishing it was more “I’m sorry” “she’s okay” “I don’t know”

For some reason this is grinding my gears!

This one was a bit slow to start. Very hard to listen to as a mom of a little girl, as the FMC has lost her 3 year old. Almost put it down for that alone, but the story is starting to pick up and hopefully we’re past the worst of some of the more difficult content.

The suspense in this book is fantastic. I find myself listening longer than I intend just to uncover more of the mystery!

Hard to believe it was over a decade ago when I first read The Hunger Games trilogy and it became my entire personality for a summer. Starting this book is incredibly nostalgic for me.
