I was thinking the whole time that reading this novel was like having to bear witness to someone you couldn't care less about jacking off and then a character mentioned how Aronofsky films are like that but another tries to argue that they are "masterpieces of texture and meaning" girl... if this is self commentary on ur own writing... is the texture and meaningfulness in the room with us right now... be so fr rn

one thing about me is when I'm hungover- I WILL be listening to an entire audiobook and just staring at the ceiling the whole time

giving this a 2nd try, picked it up a year or so ago but since then I've seen more people talking about it! let's see how it goes!

genuinely one of my favourite books so far this year! I can't stop talking to people about it and trying to convey these intense stories to them.

fav chapters so far:
- exploring Stanely Kubricks archives (WILL be rereading)
- The effects on middle Eastern actors having to take on terrorist roles in film and TV

Jon Ronson is my comfort character (convince me he's a real person even his name sounds made up)

I need to stop reading thrillers, they absolutely consume me when I do. I can't put them down- I NEED to know what happened. Really enjoying the characters in this one
