There is little in the world which unsettles me, but child SA is one of those things.
It makes me understandable angry and I was close to just end my read then and there. But I pulled through, barely able to stomach that beginning.
It is clearly meant as a cheap emotional manipulation of the reader to make it appear as if Dahlia is justified in her actions and how much we should hate the big bad.
