I’m loving this book! Chess is my favorite character! I love the way he speaks (in riddles and nonsense) and that we are starting to see a softer and more vulnerable side of him!
Alice is starting to believe! Now she only needs to believe in herself!
I can’t wait to see what happens next!

It’s so fun rereading this book again!
It really does feel like a dating show meets royalty meets the hunger games! It’s quite fun!

And that ending?! I need more! I really hope there will be a sequel!

Something I think is really cool about this book is the POVs. The main girl (Myrthe) is written in 1st person POV. The main guy (Bastiaan) is written in 3rd person POV.
I’ve never read a book that used multiple POVs like this. I actually think it’s kinda genius. Just by changing the type of POV, you have completely different character voices. It’s amazing!
I cannot wait to keep reading!

Something I love is the way Baum (the author) writes the characters. He does wonderful character building. I love that you can see their character development and see *spoiler* that they already possessed exactly what they wanted from the start.

I just read the part when the tin man explains how he became a tin man.
What?!
I didn’t know this happened. It’s grim. Maybe it’s just because this is my first time reading it but I was not expecting this part of the story.
Otherwise, I love the story so far!

This is such a sweet book! I love Jodi’s story and seeing how she always points back to God!

THE ENDING!!!
I was not expecting that ending!!! I’m still in shock! It was brilliant! Utterly brilliant!
