I am loving these literary friends. 70 more pages and I will miss them.

Ari Fliakos made me read this book. His narration is fun and full of theatrical energy. The bookstore mystery is really cool too.

I'm so mad at the outcome of this book. It was really going great towards the murder mystery I wanted it to be but GOT DANG IT. YOU FAILED ME SARA WATERS LOL Now I know why people hate this book. Ugh

These heifers ain't slick. I think one is setting up the other but you didn't hear that from me.

These women are mad! I'm here for hating them.

I really enjoyed this book. The friendship seemed solid and sometimes far too much. Dependent, controlling, codependent, a mess, etc.

My second Ann Patchett book of the year and several more checked out on my Libby App and library physical books. This current read read by the author is like listening to a story that I want to be a part of. She writes so beautifully inclusive you want to be in the story in some small way.

Silly girl dates possible murderer. From young serial killers in the making to oops I was wrong about the killer.

The writing is absolutely captivating. I enjoyed the author reading his short story collection while I painted and thought about time.

Haunting and thought provoking stories.

This seemed to get off course and I just felt lost and didn't care. I want to forget this headache. Interesting start then I just didn't see anything happening but constant repeats of non interesting events.

Inspired to keep moving with all my goals.

Beyond inspiring, this a wake up call to becoming active in your own individual pursuits.

Light thriller.

Beautiful writing then becomes confusing because the plot is non-existent or too many people trying to do something but you don't care.

This book was exciting, sad, rough, magical, mysterious and raw real. I cried the entire last chapter. We women need protection. Lord help us.

Completely amazed by this writer. Yet, I think after Egil the writer inserted himself into the story so much that the fictional story that was go along so perfectly was lost. I have the second book of the series and found out from a review that it's not mentioning the first book until the end. Which now there is yet another book that is new to the series. Ugh

This book was so emotionally touching, raw, present and a tinge of conceit covered in compassion. I need all his books, so I checked out two more.

Too much cussing for no reason. Wasn't as wise as it could have been. It read like a smart person trying to be dumb. Which is kinda seemed like the point. Yet, it didn't work. Intellectual verbiage and street lingo...not great.

Too much cursing and nothing happening for long spurts of cursing. The verbiage otherwise is smart so keep a dictionary close.

Starts like a thriller but is truly a bittersweet family drama.

Dimple and her relationship with her dad and mother is a bit heartbreaking. Feeling alone in the real world is consuming fictional literature so much it's simply a mirror.

I completely enjoyed this books pace. It made reading difficult American history and present understood while allowing you to feel for the family, friends, the black community and yourself. It hits close to home in every since of the word. Worrying about the plight of those you love close to you, your hometown and your country is so well understood because Rose and her beautiful family are becoming more real to you.

It needs to wrap up.

Exceptional.

Alex is unforgettable. Typos scream for a better editor. But the story and writing are very good, important. His sub characters are so interesting that everyone feels so integral to the outcome of the story. I cared about everyone he wrote about. So glad I read this book.

Even though the editing is lacking the story and characters completely likeable. The story flows so easily I will finish this in two settings only because I have to do housework, chat with family you know life. Otherwise this is a day read because it's so good. Alex and Tobi won't be forgotten soon. The sub characters are just as memorable.
