Bored at this point so I read one or two pages and it's interesting and funny enough. Small doses for this one.

Powerful, interesting and honest.

I feel like I am traveling through history watching how mankind shapes it to fit it's own agenda to stay in power.

Second read. First physical read, this time I listened. I recommend both often. Amen.

This was one of the most inspiring history lessons I have read in a long time. Read this book and let your kids and grandkids read it and pass it down.

The end was really good. But I am almost over essays for awhile and I still have two I'm working on. I wish they didn't all cover television and movies. We seen or didn't see the shows save it for a blog. The only book I have enjoyed like that was Baldwin. It's been done.

Interested because of Richard Wright.

I really like the family of characters, Lydia and her friends gave lessons in loyalty and trust.

Enjoying the later part of this book so much more.

Listening to multiple essays at some point they all start to sound the same when they cover movies and television. Opinions and more opinions... I was getting bored. So after that chapter and listening to his thoughts on Crazy Rich Asians I literally rejoiced it was over. So I am taking this piece by piece and it's better but I am not sure I care now. Although, the writing is really good. I just think I need a story.

Brutal

Devastating history on America's racist prison system and a massacre that was at no fault of the inmates other than racism. White politicians, police and the prison system killed their own white people to mass murder black inmates and blame it on the inmates. A very American story.
