I enjoyed this more than I probably should have. The King of Elfland's Daughter stands as a milestone in fantasy literature. It's one those "I didn't know you could do that" books. The language is as florid and purple as anything I've ever read, but I kept coming back for another taste. The storyline is resolved, more or less, but I wouldn't call it a happy ending, more like an entirely appropriate ending.
