why does this feel vaguely familiar. Like I've already read it. is it deja vu or is the plot just really basic.

Average. But at least there isn’t any explicit rape or aggressive scenes so I’ll take that as a win.

I realise my penchant for reading about adolescent boys who have fancy adventures has considerably gone down. Enjoyable but I think I've crossed the age.

JKR is a masterful story teller, no doubt about that. A third of the way in and I'm fully intrigued. I usually read books in one sitting because most books can't keep my interest for more than 4 hours. This book however, I've been reading in instalments and it's so cleverly written that I can easily pick up where I left off with same level of tension that I left it at.

I'm highly biased. In my eyes JKR can do no wrong. With that said, while her style was highly welcomed and revered in the Harry Potter series because of its magical setting, the same style becomes tedious when the setting shifts to contemporary London.

I'm taking my time with this book aren't I? I love it like I hate it. It's a complicated.
