This is the perfect title for this book holy wow. Teenage girlhood is so marked by anxiety and guilt and repression— why are we served lies instead?

A little confusing, very mysterious, and VERY French. It just has that je ne sais quoi if you know what I mean. (Amnesia plot) Too many characters to keep track of but because of the length of the novel I have a feeling that they will all be part of the protag's journey to self actualization and like a metaphor.

All of the 6 characters are so deeply connected and separated in the ways they are rooted in reality, how they process emotions, how they regard others and other various facets of the self. Absolutely fascinating how woolf's mind came up with this while also writing amazing prose

If I stop annotating the virginia woolf:

Pros: I read it faster

Cons: I don’t understand wtf is happening

Hot hot take I think a24 should adapt this— it feels like a film! Visceral and gritty and fueled by emotion

One of the things I find the most interesting about urban planning is that it is a constantly changing field. The history remains the same but the present keeps on moving forward-- Some of the ideas and predictions in this book from 2013 sadly do not ring true but it is sooooo interesting nonetheless!
