Picked this short (and recent) read from the main branch of my local library. Love the structure of dictionary definitions and quick little detours into memory. Late stage neurosis!!

No book has given me the sense of wonder that this one does in a while- beautiful!

"The Lawnmower Man" -ehhh. Not sure it worked too great.

"Quitter's Inc." - Strange lil romp through the clutches of nicotine addiction and the power of panic over those we love.

"I Know What You Need"- interesting commentary on comfort levels in relationships + a creepy stalker character.

"Children of the Corn" the religious imagery! Extremely unsettling both in character s and setting. King's best. Zealots, etc

the worst part about gr reviews is that there's no deadline. like... you're tellin me I write essay length reviews for books.. AS A HOBBY?!

FINALLY ITS odysseus. My favorite thing about this so far is that it's like a tour de all important Greek myths. hall of fame if you will

"Sometimes They Come Back" this one reminded me a lot of "The Shining" in a strange way. I think it's the teacher character wrestling with inner and outer demons.

"Strawberry Spring" Campus mystery. You can tell this was inspired by King's native Maine folk history and tales.

"The Ledge" yuppie nightmare. Organized crime and other scary life or death situations including extramarital affairs.

Twists were ok

Very glad I have pretty much all of "Percy Jackson's Greek Gods (And Heroes) memorized because all of the myth references are taking me back

"Gray Matter"- The real monster was the snowy weather, the alcoholism, and the child neglect all along. Good stuff.

"Battleground"- S.K really has a thing for inanimate objects coming alive screaming bloody murder. yeah? middling

"Trucks"- I was surprisingly enjoying this more than I expected. It's like the Cars movies but actually weird and post apocalyptic.
