would just like to note here that i am reading this for a paper :’D

To say I FELT that is a big understatement :'D

“Having experienced both, I am not sure which is worse: intense feeling, or the absence of it.”

“Beginnings are sudden, but also insidious. They creep up on you sideways, they keep to the shadows, they lurk unrecognized. Then later, they spring.”

"He recollects as many details of her face as she can. 'Do you feel doubt? Relief? Fear? Righteousness?'
'A premonition I'll never see her again.'"

FJJFLFJLW- let's pretend i'm not sitting on the floor sobbing my eyes out right now :DDD

This book really went from making me cry laughing to fully sobbing in five paragraphs I—

Gibran’s deviation from the Western canon of philosophy is making me feel so SEEN <3

This is the kind of story from Murakami that is, in a way, similar to Norwegian Wood. This far in, it’s mostly character driven and just a treasure trove in stream of consciousness and en media res storytelling. It’s just so GOOD, and it flows so well.
