Volume 1 was excellent and highly accessible. It was one of the main books for our church history Sunday School class.

Hence, Volume 2!

So many good quotes, illustrations from the Puritans. Certainly a bit wordy at times, but such a great read for church-history lovers that will edify and warm your devotions.

Fascinating.

Such an excellent chapter on the church as an act and means of God’s grace (ch. 7).

We don’t “do” church, as responding to God. Rather the church is created, gathered, and nurtured by God’s sovereign grace.

A booklet worthy chapter.

A cheeky, humorous, and convicting parable about the (often) folly of programs for evangelism, rather than just talking to your neighbor about the gospel and having them over for dinner.

Striking and clever.
