Easily one of the most helpful books (and very accessible) for the significance of Exodus, the role of Moses, the “liturgy”of the Levitical sacrifices, and the Edenic-tabernacle theology that is unpacked richly in Hebrews.

Quite fun

Like typical Keller, when he gets the gospel front and center it is gripping. But when he doesn’t and wanders into other issues (with only elements of the gospel mentioned), it annoys me.

If Jesus is the greater Jonah (as all types and shadows of the OT point to him [Matt 12]), a failed sermon is when we are told to be more like MLK Jr.

Adam, Abraham, Gideon, David, Solomon, and typified in Christ in Ephesians 1:19-20 is one of the most stunning things you’ll read (p.171ff)

Slow read, but so vast in biblical theology. It makes me wonder how much I miss in my daily readings. May the Lord open my mind to understand the Scriptures (Luke 24).

Reminds me of Spurgeon saying the Bible is simple enough for a child to wade in, yet deep enough to never touch the bottom. Amen!
