This version of “witchy” is a lot more palatable to my tastes than Threadneedle: ballgowns and captains of the guard, opera houses and horse-drawn carriages, mud and trees and cobblestone streets….emphasis more on the relationships and politics of a story than a how-to manual for being a witch in the modern world.

Modern day witches who use tablets and laptops to get the news, abusive guardianship, teenagers teaching each other spells and casting and other occult-y things….I’m struggling with this version of “witchy”. It does remind me of the Willow character arc in Buffy.

As charming of a retelling as this has the potential to be, it’s ruined by the sheer number of so-called « easter eggs » and parallels to AOGG that render it basically a re-write; which does not have the same vibe for me AT ALL.
