So far I'd say the exact 4 star rating this has is appropriate. Good not great. A few tangents like focusing on the keys a little but too much but the writing is good as always. Decent amount of action. Nothing supernatural or spooky necessarily yet which is generally different for King. Looking forward to finishing and checking out more about Retired Detective William Hodges.

Some ebbs and flows to this one. A few boring parts, the flashbacks aren't fully serving their purpose yet but I feel like that will change during the last quarter of this book. I hope at least. Poor Blaze.

Not bad so far but not standing out really. Doing audiobook so I'll definitely finish. Narrator is ok. Getting small "Insomnia" vibes from it which is one of my least favorite King's so far. It's better than that though. Blaze is an interesting character and I hope they do something interesting with George.

Enjoying this one more than I remember I did the first time around.

Finished #3- A Good marriage. Basically as dark as the previous two novellas I read in this book. Full Dark indeed. Didn't get the title at first. Good marriage was well written, better than #4. Brought up a lot of questions picturing my self or someone I know discovering someone else I lived was a killer. Very weird. But again, well written.

#1- 1922 was surprisingly dark. I had seen the movie and I liked it, but the imagery he paints here is better than what they could do at Netflix studio or whatever. Sad. MC basically makes a horrible decision and pays for it. I guess he paid as hard as you could so maybe I should sympathize.
#3- read the shortest story, Fair Extension. Again, very fucking dark. Title of the book is fitting so far. Good but truncated

Middle third got a bit boring there. Not enough action. Kicked up more recently. Looking forward to finishing this one and hoping for a strong ending to bump this up from the 3 I rated last time to a respectable 4. I do see why Stephen King has said this is his "scariest" book. To many, the worst thing we can imagine is having our young child die (tragic without exception) and be tempted to "resurrect" some facsimile
