MC is kind of a piece of shit. 😅 mentally unwell. But it's a quick read and "Bachman's" outlook on humanity is dark as fuck. Interesting. Think I've read all his work except the somewhat now eliusive "Rage."

Story #3, The Body, what turned into Stand By Me. Good, not great. Chris and Gordie's relationship is great. You don't really ever have friends like when you were 12. King does write about adolescence well. They arnt my favorite stories of his normally but they do spark memories, memories of feelings forgotten. Experiences so intense at the time, everyday memory of them couldn't be stored. Every so often we remember.

Shawshank story. was pretty good. Have never seen the movie but heard it referenced 100 times.
Just finished Apt Pupil, holy shit that was dark. As dark as any King. Nazi death camps and mass murder. Intense. Felt like he didn't know where the story would end up through out it, but not in a bad way. Things just kind of fell together a little too convenient at times during the end.

So far I'd give it a 4 star. Gave it a 3 star last time which is relatively rare for me. Thought I enjoyed it more than that. We shall see. There have already been some "horrifying" moments. King is king.

Slow and steady. Getting way better and understanding more and more.

Dark. Depressing. But wait, something finally good happened to the main characters. Will it last? I doubt it. Great book though.

This is a very Gray book in tone. Dark and depressing and intense so far. But it's honestly making me feel better. A bit of a bad mood lately and thought this book would make it worse. Nope. Would love to burn through this as soon as I can.

Loving this. Fun. Immersive. Scary. Great pacing. Lots of characters but reminds you who is who with ease.
