May have to hit pause on this. When the MMC says "we still on this?" I felt that. The FMCs internal conflict should he switching and moving. Not stating stagnant after that powerful scene. Not reverting after the flashback. That keeps tge story feeling fresh

I want to 👏🏾 the author. Smartly made the FMC older than 18. With her history and background being a college fresh at 22 makes a lot of sense. It also adds dimension to her character

1st time I read this book this line irritated me. My note said "racist AF". I ended up DNF at 20%. Trying to give it another whirl and yeah....the line still pisses me off. Bookthreads

Amazed to see so much emotional weight in a book with a knife love interest

I'm a sucker for pain/comfort trope. Both cried and was comforted by the other #swoon

Yep I have to start skipping her chapters

@ 10%: This book would have to fumble hard for me to DNF. A FMC who's 37 to his 40sum. "Who hurt you?" trope ❤️

@20%: sigh Vanessa is really annoying and I might DNF. Maybe I should skip her chapters
