Sam the girl's rant reminds me of Robin from Stranger Things.

It was a bit of a confusing beginning but once I caught onto the way of the world I was involved. Fable is a strong and enjoyable character. Slow burn romance that is appropriate for teens.
Cliffhanger endings and I don't really get along but I could feel it coming so I'm not so surprised.

"Like a weary bird flying out over the most desolate sea, I finally had a place to land."
There isn't much of a poetic voice in this book but this line did stop me in my tracks.

"This wasn't about being a Communist or a rabble-rouser. This was about fighting for the rights of every American."
