Not what I was looking for, and not impressed yet. Badly parsed prose; some of that might be translation, a lot of it is probably the style of the time and the breeding of the author. I think it's going to be a slog. I think this might be one book I don't finish. I think I'll have to look somewhere else for good writing on the Renaissance.

At best, this book is idealistic and sincere, but I think naive and simplistic are more accurate descriptors. I find the attempt to reconcile corporate capitalism and even the most basic Buddhist practice absurd.
