Is it just me or does no hobbit ever stay awake when they're on watch

I'm actually up to Sam and Frodo in Mordor, but I want to bring up the Houses of Healing. Such a great chapter. We've got this super-serious situation, Eowyn, Faramir, and Merry might be dying, and Tolkien throws in this series of comic scenes where these well-meaning idiots won't just go and get Aragorn the plant he needs. It provides just the light touch the scene needs to balance the drama

There would be a certain appropriateness if Szeth and Moash killed each other in the end. They're like a dark reflection of each other, each committing terrible deeds without any emotion, one because he believed he had no choice that his crimes were his honorable duty, and one because he chose not to face the consequences of his passion and abandoned himself to it.

I'm starting to think I actually may finish my reread before Wind and Truth release day! That said, I usually hit a slump around the 40% mark of any Stormlight Archive book as the drama and sheer size of the book starts to get to me. Still, ~1000 pages to go in 17 days seems doable.

I don't know why I don't read much when I'm sick. By all rights, I've had enough free time in the last week and a half to finish every book on my currently reading list and all of their sequels.
