Ah, Breitenfeld... I really should be listening to Sabaton's Carolus Rex while reading this part of the book. I suppose the library patrons might object...

First reread in ~6 years, also, first time reading the 2nd Edition, which mostly seems the same other than some retcons in the prologue to incorporate the events of Time Spike into the canon

I feel like if I don't get serious about Wind and Truth soon, I'm going to end up in a full-on Ring of Fire reading marathon...

It's good to be back in the 'ol Ring of Fire. I've kind of gotten out of rereading the series (its hard, knowing that we're probably not getting a proper conclusion), but still such a fun premise and with so many delightful stories and characters, and Jody Nye's entry has been a great addition so far.

You thought Wiznik was the real villain, but it was me, DIO!

Well, I got past the villain gloating chapter, took long enough (272 DAYS!), but I really dislike Wiznik, but not in a "you have to pay for your sins!" way just in a "why is it this pathetic hypocritical crab can just snap his pincers and get the galaxy to do what he wants it to do?" He's just an opportunistic ambitious amoral cowardly jerk. He's literally the worst villain Sanderson ever wrote.
