What Nietzsche Really Said
Wait, so if I accept the eternal recurrence of the same, does that mean I have to accept watching this abysmally crappy season of True Detective over and over again for all of eternity?? Oh lord, please let time be linear!

"Nor is Jesus ever far from Nietzsche's mind. Together with Socrates, the first (and Nietzsche says 'only') Christian provided the paradigm that Nietzsche sought to follow throughout his career-not just a philosopher, not just a moralist, but a true revolutionary, a voluptuary, a sterling example (if only for 'the few')."

Interesting that Nietzsche found such affinity and commonality with Spinoza : "I have a precursor, and what a precursor! ... My lonesomeness is now at least a twosomeness."

HEY man who just now sat down at my cafe table while I'm reading in peace and took out his phone and started yakking loudly while wolfing down food, maybe have some courtesy and don't do that BECAUSE I'M FUCKING READING! Dick.

Three Wogs
When I read Alexander Theroux I learn so many delicious new words! Oh, if only more writers respected their audience's intelligence enough to trust they will go to the dictionary when necessary, and treasure all the new words they discover! Theroux's lexical breadth & obscurity is a gift to you, dear readers - a generous gift!

Absolute Recoil should be on my doorstoop when I get home from work this evening. I'll add it to the row of 480 other Zizek books I haven't got around to reading yet. I've bought, and not read, so many of his books! So why am I still a little giddy to get home tonight and peruse this another to-read! Maybe it's just holding the object creates a psychological affinity...

This volume's a bit like Henry Miller, if you replaced the scenes in Henry Miller where he claims his giant member instantly induces multiple orgasms in any woman it touches with scenes where he prematurely ejaculates and quietly cries by himself in shame.

I'm thankful to have read Gaddis Pynchon & Vollmann because I feel always more certain that the American reality I move around in every day is the reality of the books of Gaddis Pynchon & Vollmann.

Are there such things as literary communities these days outside of universities? Where writers and artists in other mediums hang out in the same place in a city and discuss/debate/inspire each other? Does that still exist? If so, where and who do they consist of? Seems to me we're all just a bunch of lonely atoms... but what do I know about it? Enlighten me...

"Oh, this is the song about being sixteen years old and sitting on a bus and thinking about her, the one, not knowing that feelings will slowly, slowly, weaken and fade, that life, that which is now so vast and all-embracing, will inexorably dwindle and shrink until it is a manageable entity that doesn't hurt so much, but nor is it as good."

"Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer" is such a stupid quote, Dan Brown. The first sentence is redundant, the second is nonsense. Only the kind of drooling moronic plebes who are anticipating Harper Lee's new book would 'like' such a quote. Happy 4th of July BBQ hamburger everybody!!
