I’m always a little disappointed when we get the POV of a mysterious character in the next chapter. It’s like, what’s the point of having questions or fantasizing about what he could be when BOOM! Lindsay has this habit of dropping books in quick succession which is great for bingeing readers like me. I was so excited when I found out yesterday book 2 of this new side series was out! Gavin and Clem are electric and scorching when together but when it’s just Clem I get bored. Maybe cause there’s no learning new magic?

2nd lightning storm during our Universal Studios trip in Orlando has given me quite a lot of reading time. I’ve been traveling all day on my family’s road trip so my last memory is Hysithea stuck in a barrel needing to pee or worried about needing to pee, I think there was a moose and she did successfully meet Mrothgar’s group and is trying to lie her way into their journey. The suspense has been killing me!

A little slow to get started but laying down all the important bricks about political intrigue and mysterious uses for people. And those ‘meet cute’ moments. A touch on the shoulder here, a hand clasp on the way off. ❤️ I sense a theme LOL. If only I can keep my eyes open long enough to keep reading. 😴

I really enjoyed Hawke and Aldari’s story. Lindsay loves her slow burn to my detriment but we got our romance pretty early and delivered in nice small bites throughout the novel. I was super excited when I saw she was writing Hawke’s sister’s story. Y’all I cannot wait to see what happens!!! 😍

This is so good! Love the writing, love the characters and the setup. Usually hate mistaken identity tropes but I think I’m gonna enjoy this one. 😍

I almost didn’t read past the first two chapters because Hadley’s situation hit a little too close to home and I read fiction to escape my reality. LOL! But I’m glad I pushed through. Elijah is adorable and so is Lucy and Eli. Sometimes kids aren’t written well but this author is doing a good job.
