My 10yr old daughter came running up and said I have a book you should read and placed this book in my hands.
How could I not read it!
I can't wait to talk with her about the book!

So .. it's the parent trap?

"The unfairness of reverse racism"
This sent out a flag (you know, because that isn't an actual thing).
Is it the author's ignorance her or the author portraying the character's ignorance?
I've been able to overlook (hmmm not really the right word, I notice it and it's a distraction from the story) the horny teen male objectifying every female he sees, but racist ideas shouldn't be shrugged off

I'm not that far yet, but I'm not enjoying Annuweth's story as much as I enjoyed the story of Marilia.

Starting this book trying to keep an open mind as I'm a little weary of a book that has people fostering kids for personal gain.

Sixty pages in and what seems like the same number of tears already. A story that has been mirrored too many times in the news...

I'm finding it hard to stay interested in this book.
