I also love how self aware it is and how it doesn’t take itself seriously. Holy—I thought this was gonna be like the Queen of tearling, Silver Elite, Fourth Wing or the first book of the ACOTAR series. Boring, horrifying, and cringe. (Sorry not sorry esp not you Queen of Tearling.)

Also for all my peeps who aren’t into spice? The romantasy girlies got you—they highlight the spice chaps so you can avoid them

I need to write the biggest “hear me out” review of this book. Like why did people only talk about the smut? I need to sing the praises of the irreverent humor. I need to gush over the best supporting cast. I need to shout about how much I love and appreciate levels of done Saeris is throughout the book but is serious when the situation demands it. It’s a comedy sleeper hit that subverts so many tropes.
