Don’t really get it but @45% the MCs haven’t exchanged more than 20 sentences with each other. This isn’t slow burn this is just no burn at all.
It’s like everything went on pause @30% and nothing happened since.

Starts out with the FMC captured and “owned”. As she’s describing how she’s been violated, beaten and SA for over 6 months by her “owner”. How she’s become scared, bruised and bleeds and suffers daily.
Not anything that I needed to know when I was hoping for some hot romance.

Feeling dumb, but was hoping for a smige more plot so I’m hitting pause for a while.

🎧 Why the F does the female narrator insist on reading the British characters with American dialects? A Brit barmaid sounds like a southern hillbilly?!

Didn’t like that we only get her PoV throughout

Getting deep into heartbreak and paternal nightmarish territory - I wasn’t prepared for this AT ALL! Yes, a TW at the beginning would have been nice.

Not getting into it and can’t get my head around what this is supposed to be. Doesn’t “take off”. Characters feel 2dimentional and cardboardy. Getting bored. DNF
