Minor general WoT spoilers:

I wish that Wheel of Time spent a lot more time on the mysticism in its world. People being reincarnated, the aelfinn and eelfinn, etc etc.

It kind of just brushes off the fact that the books are post-apocalyptic. The show did a great job at showing ancient ruined bridges and fallen/overgrown skyscrapers. I wish that the books had leaned more into that. It's really cool.

Egwene these past 3 books has been a fucking great read, and I'm really enjoying where Rand's characterisation is going. Sanderson has done an amazing job continuing their arcs from where Jordan left it off.

Fucken love big dogs

Although still pretty fun, this is the sloggiest Expanse book i've read. The character premise and dynamics of the first 100 or so pages kind of get ignored when the plot begins, which is a bit disappointing to see, and the plot is moving at a snail's pace.

I love Singh though; it's always fun seeing a bad guy fuck up again and again, with the narrative showing explicit dramatic irony lmao

Lots of respect for Captain Singh being this much of a dumbass. Impressive Impressive Impressive.

Not quite done yet, but after my third read, I am finally giving The Way of Kings a 10/10 :prayge:

I have consumed many o' words today

This is the third time reading this book (april 2020, april 2021 were my first two times). Just finished part 1, and it is just so *intensely* satisfying. I don't think that Stormlight is my favourite series anymore (greenbone saga and the age of madness take the top 2 spots probably), but there is no series where i "feel more at home" than with this one. I just know the world and characters so incredibly well.

I have become an Agatha Christie convert.

Agatha Christie is great at creating an immersive atmosphere, and for being 90 years old, the dialogue she writes feels more engaging than that of the Wheel of Time lol
