If this current narrative turned out to be where I think it's going—it's a very poorly veiled misdirect

The book caught up to its synopsis at Chapter 13—finally entering unknown territory.

I hope the protagonist Jule will develop into a stronger character— she's currently extremely timid and vacant.

Nothing major to complain, but so far it's lacking a bit of momentum

I'm not Catholic, so it's a bit tricky understanding Mary Katherine's logic in the 'warning system'.

"Years later, the Hong Kong drama Infernal Affairs, which [Martin Scorsese] had shown me in the eighties, would inspire his Oscar-winning The Departed." — definitely a factual error, as the Hong Kong thriller was released in 2002.

"A falsehood deceives and makes one stray form the truth, but imagination can be a short cut leading one rather to the truth."

"Toffee feels pretty hard until you put it in your mouth and suck on it."

"Observe, analyze, then reverse engineer."

"I always tried to instill the negative in advance...it was like vaccinating them against the flu."

I can’t believe I’ve just read 6 pages of the protagonist trying to put together an outfit, and ended up with the horrid outfit described 😅

Emotions are high in the last couple chapters.

I like where this narrative is going.

Not sure how I feel about this self-materializing paper... feels far-fetched, why bother if everything is done on screen?

Still a fun read thus far, the sex scenes are well-executed, and both protagonists have enough personality nuance to keep them interesting. Elisha's constant monologues are getting a little dull, as there hasn't been much advancement in his internal conflict.

Two words: 'smile-vomit'

Plot moves along at a swift pace, maybe almost too fast—already encountered the first sex scene between the 2 protagonists, which is quite effectively staged.
