Worried it might be dragging too long.

It's not what you would have expected.

You burn really fast through these books, in case you wonder. I'm already on the epilogue, which is weird, considering that my Kindle says there are two long sections after it, and this "Epilogue" is also extensive. Through the entire novel all went well and wonderful, the way we've got used to with the previous 6.5 books on the Straight Guys series. However now I stumbled into a bit of corny and it soured me up. :-(

I'm so totally in love with both main characters and their sons! Really, this is the absolute power of Ms. Dee: I LOVE her writing!

I can't deal with these awful characters! Oliver is some awful, judgmental person, and Matt is an insecure, quite dumb bimbo of sorts. Ms. Hart tries too hard to make you believe that they are perfect, that their relationship is wonderful and meaningful, and that music is magical for Matt, and all you get is wish - up to this point, that they drop dead and maybe, just MAYBE the rest of the book is less terrible.

Ok, not really there... and kind of disappointed with the steamier scenes

I'm not sure where this is going, and I don't really like how Eddie is treated. A third into the story and I'm having serious difficulties trying to connect with the main characters.

I really like Ms. Hart's style of writing, so I start this book with a buckload of hope. The sample I've got from Amazon.com wasn't quite promising, and the plot so far was boring and dragging... but I'm sure there must be more to it than what meets the eye.

Actually... not really sold on it.

Glorifying jealousy and entertaining violent thoughts: how come a "romance" story needs to involve these disgusting, demeaning, objectifying impulses as the signs of love? Disgraceful.
