I usually love Alessandra Hazard's books, but I'm not a fan of this one. The writing was decent, though there were some typos that could have easily been spotted during the editing process. Overall, my biggest problem with it was that it lacked the emotional tug that her books usually carry.

When I found out she was writing about Vlad, I was surprised. Vlad wasn't fleshed out in the previous book, so he was a character I easily dismissed as a plot device (which turned out to be to be the case, ac

Anyone who has been following LGBT news in Russia would know that the reminiscence of Vlad's homophobic upbringing in this book is spot on and should therefore expect his initial introduction into the story to be filled with political incorrectness. The characters in this series are all left of center & that's what makes these books interesting.

Okay while I was reading this story I was convinced that I would give it three stars because I absolutely loved the first four books of this series and while I was reading this one I knew that it didn't touch me in the same way those four had. But sometimes I really wonder how much this book would actually rate at if I wasn't comparing it to other books in the series, which admittedly are so good that they are at a whole new level at least for me. But I truly think this book deserves 4.5 Stars.

I liked this book, but the continuous homophobic slurs got old. I'm not really sure what Sebastian saw in Vlad either. I did eventually warm to him, but it took a while. Sebastian also was kind of an immature dick always trying to make Vlad jealous. Not my favorite of the series, but not my least favorite either.

I was so glad to see updates on some of the prior couples, especially my favorites Roman and Luke (Just a Bit Ruthless). I am still a huge fan of this series and will continue to read t

Darum geht’s:

Inz
This is my 5th book in the Straight Guys series and they’ve been a mixed bag for me. Just a Bit Wicked is a stand alone as are all the books; but it definitely helps if you’ve read Just a Bit Ruthless and it wouldn’t hurt to have read Just a Bit Wrong either. Just A Bit Wicked features the incredibly homophobic straight guy Vlad; Roman’s (from Just A Bit Ruthless) recently fired head of security. Except that Vlad – for all his obnoxious posturing - really is not a straight guy. And as over the t ...more

So, I read it, and if you think that my expectations were too high for the actual book, then you are sadly mistaken, because this was AWESOME :D

God, Vlad and Sebastian's story was as incredible as I knew it would be. The tension, the heat, the angst, the EVERYTHING ! It was still less angsty than Luke and Roman's book, I admit, but no less good.

The perfect balance of hot, romantic, sweet and heart warming, this book was immensely satisfying. It was inspiring to see Vlad's journey toward s

4.5 stars for all Sebastian & Vlad parts
.5 for all Roman and Luke parts
While i LIKED reading S&V love story i super disliked how the author made them like less men ( dogs : loyal but still your animal ) in front of her previous book heroes . It was really stupid bc really it could be a wonderful book with wonderful heroes but yeah she have to ruin it with this stupid shit :)

Not my thing....

Glaring lack of consent right off the bat + constant!!! homophobia + 2 complete assholes (honestly, they both suck) + a whole ton of hate sex = 1 unhappy camper

Idk, the author does warn us about the contents of the story, but I was hoping it would somehow all work out. Turned out to really not be my thing: I prefer fluffy romantic angst, and this was more ....'dark' and unromantic.

I have to mention that it has a "gay porno" vibe going on at some parts, meaning there were some ch
4.25 stars.

I'm guessing lots of people will dislike Vlad for his blatant homophobia and lots of other things, but I'm glad the author didn't whitewash him. He was a jerk in the previous book, he was a jerk for most of this book, his issues didn't completely dissolve even in the end, and he wasn't automatically cured by a "magic dick".

Overall, this was a highly enjoyable read. Not my favorite in the series, but I couldn't put it down and will certainly re-read it at some point.

I love this series. I enjoyed this book, not as much as the last, but love to hear this is not the last in the series. I love the interrelated characters and how one couple leads to the next. The characters are likeable, the struggle is realistic. I love this series.

I loved quite a few book in this series, but, for some reason, this one didn't click with me as much.

I remember Vlad, the homophobic bodyguard from the previous book. I actually felt sorry for him then because he lost his job over helping Luke. Here he comes across as a man lost in oodles of bitter- and grumpiness. I could see that his terrible attitude, his vile behaviour and even some of his awfully short temper were caused by his inner struggle to figure out who he was. And he had some seriou

4,5 stars. I'm impressed! The Straight Guys series are getting better and better, different from many of the longer series I had the pleasure to read.

With 'Just a Bit Wicked' we get an interesting, funny story with lots of sexual tension and passion. The characters kind of grow on you and you just can't help cheering on them, even if you feel like slapping one of them on the head with a huge cold fish.

I only missed a bit more action from the plot, like someone really breaking into the house or

This is a good one. I've only read one other book in this series, and I enjoyed that one, so I was hopeful that I would enjoy this one too. (And I did).

This was a solid 4 stars for me because Sebastian and Vlad had really great chemistry that then translated to really hot sex (and also, once the romance got involved, that was wonderful too). But I also felt it a little lacking, enough to not give it 5 stars. I just feel like...well, I wanted the book to go more in depth with Sebastian and Vlad'

Here is a review by VVivacious:

basically this linked review, except I didn't pay attention to Tristan (though good for him! finally making investments/business things he's good at) & because of a medical thing I didn't read it all in one go because erotics are dangerous to me right now. it was surprisingly sweet when you could get the homophobic-induced angst out of it. I like the enemies-to-lovers trope.

Hot steamy love/hate. Poor Vlad - yes poor Vlad. A product of his environment - his homophobic ways is all he knows. When he meets the man that slept with his girlfriend - his world is tipped upside down. No matter how much he fights it he can't get Sebastian out of his mind, or stop his bodies reaction to him.

After reading this book, I realized that Vlad is a cross between Roman and Luke from the previous installment. He can be a mean asshole and yet is quite vulnerable (not quite like how I imaged a vulnerable person to be but nonetheless). Yes, he isn't exactly likable but I've come to accept him the way he is. I like that Alessandra Hazard doesn't make him do a complete change of character. He's still true to who he is at every turn of the book. He has trouble expressing himself and he has trouble ...more

I didn't expect to like this book as I thought it would be filled with stereotypes, and it wasn't. Really liked that Vlad coming to terms with his sexuality, after lifelong internalised homophobia, was not overnight. It is something he has to work on constantly and the author does a good job of exploring what it must be like to have been hardcore programmed to believe what you are is wrong.

Vlad and Sebastian have a rough yet sexy start when they 1st meet due to Vlad's gf sleeping with Sebastian. They part ways as enemies and yet meet again when they attend a party of mutual people they know. Now Vlad must protect Sebastian from hate groupies and deny the feelings he has for this model. Sebastian wants to keep him self safe physically and emotionally yet he is drawn to Vlad who he knows will hurt him. These 2 cannot deny the intensity between them and come together to "scratch a it ...more
Alessandra Hazzard's Straight Guys series are like crack to me. I love them and devour them in one sitting and then have to wait forever for the next one.
I actually hate only giving Just a Bit Wicked 3 stars, but it just wasn't as good as the others in the series. It felt short and there was no real character depth. I wanted to love Sebastian and grow to love Vlad, but I don't feel like I really got to know them and I never got over how much of a homophobic bastard Vlad was. I know he was repre

I didn't know how I was going to feel about this one going on in, some of the books in this series have declined for me over time but I have to say one thing about this book, it surprised me. It stayed true to its theme until the very end. There was no miraculous change of heart and completely 180's done. Vlad stayed true to himself.
It's advertised that this book can be read as a standalone and I guess that's true, but if you don't know where Vlad is coming from it's hard to have any sympathy or

I loved this! Wow, Vlad is so much more likable in this book than in Just a Bit Ruthless, for obvious reasons. I wasn't sure how I felt about Sebastian at first, but he quickly became likable to me too.

It was great to see characters from the previous books again. I especially loved seeing Tristan DuVal (my favorite character in the Straight Guys series); he's so funny as usual, haha.

As always, I find that Alessandra Hazard is particularly adept at choosing words to convey precise and vivid impre
