It took a little longer for me to get into this book, perhaps a sign that either the author's or my adherence to this story is starting to wain. Now that I am deeper into the book, it has picked up considerably. I hate moping Sean, and much rather see the MC doing something else.

This has been a decent light Space Opera. Not heavily political unlike the Expanse, but not heavily combat laden either.

Well this book started slow for me and does not have a very good hook at the beginning. I would have started the book with the chasing destroyer.

This book was recommended to me, but so far I found it to be meh. Not (for me at least) a very good hook at the beginning, but lets see if the book improves.

I am enjoying this series, but it is good to be back reading what this author excels at -space battles.

I have been looking forward to this book for a while now.

Finally, we get to the ass kicking in this book. Whole lot of world building and set up, but we finally get some action.

I like the other author writing these Jesse Stone books, but this author is decent, only not as good as the other.

I have always enjoyed Weber's books even this one which reads as if it a recreation of Pearl Harbor in space.

I really enjoy these Jesse Stone books. Interesting take on the small town oxy-fentanyl problem.

So we have a canine-like spacefaring race that has invaded Earth. The alien infantry is marching around the NC and SC forests. As a grunt familiar with the critters that live in those forests, why aren't the aliens infested with ticks, fleas and chiggers as myself and most of my fellow soldiers were after field exercises in those same kinds of woods?

So very Indepence Day (the 1st one not the meh 2nd movie) but not quite as overblown and cliche ridden as the movie. Still a decent read, but not IMHO Weber's better writing.

Well I didn't expect to enjoy this story, but it is fairly good. Some minor nits to pick, but nothing major or that ruins the story.

So this series was recommended to me, based on my other reading. I got the Kindle sample and started reading it holding my nose expecting a real stinking turkey. I was surprised to find that I actually like this book and bought the first one in the series. Assuming the story does not suicide later on might get the whole series.
