Thank you all for the laughs, smiles, and book chats this past year. You all brighten my days and enrich my life so much, you make every day feel like my birthday! I'm so lucky to be a part of this wonderful Goodreads community! :)

Some rumors told of a vengeful storm here, one that sought out and destroyed approaching ships. The strange wind they encountered seemed to support that.

Being from the land of Nor'easters, I know all about vengeful storms!

"That is what we fight," Dalinar said, exhausted.
"Huh. Compared to that, you're nothing."

Don't be so sure, Lift. Sometimes the underdog can surprise you!

General consensus of opinion seems to be that the final season of Game of Thrones feels rushed. 😞 This makes me appreciate George R R Martin's writing so much more... at least you NEVER have to worry about him rushing anything! 😂

I read a chapter where Bridge Four races each other just in time for the Boston Marathon today. Timing truly is everything!

He wasn't the exception. Men like Kaladin were the exception- the very, very rare exception.

Being a hero isn't easy. That's why there are so many more furry heroes than human ones!

Witty comebacks like that never come as easily to me as they do to Gaz!

Dalinar cleared his throat. "What?"

"Your butt is too nice. Old guys shouldn't have tight butts. It means you spend too much time punching people. You should have an old flabby butt. Then I'd trust you."

So she'd trust Homer Simpson but not Dalinar?

Veil shoved her hand into the woman's hair, pushing away the wig of mottled brown and black. Ishnah settled herself, holding her wig.
"I'm just trying to prove myself to you."
"With a disguise I saw through the moment I glanced at you?"

Ishnah isn't quite the master of disguise this cat is...

"In short, everyone who might have been able to help us is crazy, dead, a traitor, or some combination of the three." Kaladin folded his arms. "Figures."

Kaladin is one of those "Anything that can go wrong..." people!

"You're old."
"Maybe," Dalinar said, steadying himself, his vision clearing. "But they made a mistake."
"Which is?"
"They turned their backs on me!"
Dalinar charged, wielding the axe in one hand.

Dalinar... a badass at any age!

Over 2,700 pages into this series and it's finally happened... we've finally got a chapter from Rock's point of view! Seems like I've been waiting forever for a Rock chapter! Totally worth the wait! :D

The men were still scrambling for food, laughing and shouting in complete disarray. Sigzil shook his head, weaving his way toward the door.
"Hey, Sig. Are the men up and mustered?"
"Up, yes. When I left them, they seemed bordering on a food fight."

Once again Bridge Four distinguishes themselves!

She opened her book, intent on finally getting something done today. Ellista put her hand to her lips, reading with wide eyes, trembling.
"Ellista?"
"Yip!" she said, bolting upright, snapping the book closed.

A bibliophile tries to read and keeps getting interrupted. Sanderson knows our struggle!

I always note the character symbols at the beginning of each chapter, but for the first time ever, I've noticed that when the chapter is a flashback, the colors of the symbol are inverted! I'm well over 2,000 pages into this series, how have I never noticed that before? I'm a little oblivious sometimes.

As good as this is, I'm having trouble keeping track of everything. So much info!


I'm currently reading the chapter summaries of the last two books as a refresher to help me remember.
