Simply enthralling. So far, I know some of these origin stories but the adept way Stephen Fry weaves the narrative gives them a freshness reserved for mint.

Toni Morrison writes so damn well! This book was a little hard to start but once you get used to the ‘jumps’ it’s so enjoyable.

There’s quite some poetry in this story about love, longing and relationships.

However, the jury is still out on how I feel about the entire book

WTF!?!? I mean, I suspected it but WTF?

One thing I really do like about the conversational tone of the book, is the realization that Kathy has that at times she over-reacred or overlooked some detail that would have been a paradigm shift at the time.

But still WTF are these donors? Are they manufactured? Born? What happens when she's done being a carer? Her peers were donors too, has she or will she be a donor?

I was told to go into this book with as little knowledge on it as possible. No reviews, no synopsis, nothing. Go in as a blank slate.

Well, so far, my interest is peaked and if I didn't have work, I'd devour it in one huge chunk.

What is Hailsham? What's so special about the children there? What's the significance of the author being a carer?

This is a book you can't help but inhale. One deep breath, taking in as much as you can.

This first of the Magi? What does he have planned for Jezal really?

What exactly is Bayaz aiming for? I don't go k 9 can put this book down until I finish it. And even then, I may have to pick up the 2nd one immediately.

I fear for Darrow further on in the series. All this broken chains will have consequences.

Lorn has the most quotable lines in this book. I kinda picture him to be this sort of sea-grizzled sailor who smells of salt. Like a mix of Geralt and Ves from the Witcher.
