A servant said that Heathcliff and Catherine have run off together. This seems entirely plausible to me.

Omg this doctor is really telling them Catherine will get better/improve if they act happy around her all the time?

God bless Nelly for being an advocate for Catherine's mental health. Because clearly no one else will.

Does Catherine struggle with depression? Or they probably won't call it depression during these times I would imagine.

This has gotta be the crux of the novel here right? She either goes with Heathcliff or picks Edgar.

Damn this chapter ends with Edgar telling Isabella that if she pursues Heathcliff then their relationship will be ruined.

"Will you give up Heathcliff hereafter, or will you give up me?"

OMG He's making her choose! I was not expecting this.

Wait...Is Catherine insinuating she will just kill herself if she can't have both Edgar and Heathcliff? I must be getting this wrong that makes no sense.

"I shall deny you hereafter admission into this house and give notice now that I require your instant departure."

Annnnnd there it is.

Edgar is about to end things between Catherine and Heathcliff.

Oh damn, Heathcliff being all "I heard you talking shit about me" to Catherine like.

Is Heathcliff making the moves on Isabelle?

Heathcliff is a bad influence on Hareton.

Ch. 10: Heathcliff makes a surprise visit to Thrushcross. Catherine seems exceptionally please to see him. Heathcliff says that he is staying at Wuthering Heights. Isabelle falls for Heathcliff.

So, Nelly ends this chapter by saying she basically wishes Heathcliff hadn't come back/things are worse off that he's here...

"‘Here are two people sadly in need of a third to thaw the ice between them."

I love this old fashioned speak for "ya'll gotta get over this shit and move on." LOL

Heathcliff’s conduct be true, you would never think of desiring such a husband, would you?"

Catherine is really pulling out all the stops here so her sister-in-law avoids getting with Heathcliff.

"‘No, you have not,’ said the infatuated girl. ‘I love him more than ever you loved Edgar, and he might love me, if you would let him!’"

*sighs* Oh Isabelle.

Not Catherine calling Isabelle out on liking Heathcliff. Wondering how this is going to impact their relationship.

Isabelle finds herself attracted to Heathcliff, but he doesn't share her sentiments. Hmmmm...no chance he marries her simply so he can be closer to Catherine, right?

So, Catherine and Heathcliff find themselves spending a lot more time together these days. Is this going to result in Edgar getting jealous?

Hey, at least Edgar doesn't have to put up with her crappy moods. Like at least there's that way to look at it.

Heathcliff admits that he came back to potentially live at Wuthering Heights again and to be closer to Thrushcross and in doing so closer to Catherine. He isn't saying he came for Catherine...but he's not not saying it.
