An American-Canadian classic from 1981 that I am discovering today in 2022. I already like the potential for a magical, mysterious atmosphere.

This has gotten to the point of boring me, which is not often. There is usually a new spiritual concept to consider and glean education from. I cannot finish this book soon enough. I am almost there.

I am still falling asleep on this book. I caught-up on some television I wanted to watch but Olena Gill is repetitive and has not dazzled me with anything formidable or eyeopening. I don't think my reaction derives from broad education in esoteric staples. Traits cited for Indigos and Crystals cover most people. Sure, we ought not obsess over categorizing what we know but do not call organization "a human fault"!

I keep falling asleep on this book. Tonight brings another great television show, "Expedition: Back To The Future", so I will try to stay awake to push forward after a fine viewing hour.

This reads like the life of a normal person interested in arts and esoteric spirituality. A lot of people are intuitive and are sensitive psychically. I do not see anything jump out yet as "Indigo person", nor anything hard enough to call this a "survival guide". Olena had money challenges like most of us, which was hard. Nothing has her standing out, astonishing me, or garnering a "her life was a book" reaction.

Respectfully and truly, Ukrainian-Canadian Olena Gill had rough times growing up in a strict, religious environment, with divorced parents and a stressed-out, drinking Mom. I understand the added sensitivity of being an Indigo child but many kids had her issues. She is whiny about challenges that are common among kids and brags about liking books and music instead of playing with sand, as if she were extraordinary.

I am entranced with every page Rita MacNeil shared about herself and her very gradual, hard work to succeed in her spectacular music career. She is gone too young but her notes and our delightful memories of her assuredly play on. In Canada, the Christmas songs she authored are as familiar to us on the radio, as ancient traditional ones. It isn't Christmas here without "Now The Bells Ring" and "Christmas At Home".

Now Rita is married, has two kids with David, and they left the long distance, 5 acre property they had tried out. Singing professionally remains Rita's goal and David is supportive.

Rita is on her own at seventeen, working in Toronto and planning her dream to be a singer!

Dear Rita starts with beautiful snapshots of her special part of Canada, Big Pond, in the Cape Breton region of Nova Scotia. Cape Breton has always been talked about as a place unto itself. I know middle and eastern Nova Scotia and fell in love with them as it is. It is the only place I would move outside my province. Sadly, Rita shares dark aspects of relatives. I know too well alcoholism eating up spare money.
