i love this page, but it's far too long to type out.

ive been trying for years to bring it to the table.
to redirect its attention. make it see reason.
to have a constructive conversation about all the good
we could do if we were on the same side. but my heart has
a will of its own and only ever speaks to me through
a clenched jaw and tearful eyes. its rarely had ears for me
and im a shitty negotiator anyways. i somehow always
listen long enough to forget my own point.

sometimes
no matter how hard you try
the soil just isn't right
and the water goes nowhere
but downward.

even the most carefully planted seeds
cannot flourish where they were never
meant to stay.
