Status Updates From Bump

Interesting and compelling, likeable knowable characters, but drags in places. Easy to skim read and not miss much. I tried it a couple times, skipping a chapter, reading the next, going back to read skipped chapter and discover it wasn’t needed, just going over repeated feelings and scenarios. Needs pruning.

David's attitude towards the sex of the baby is really bothering me. You'd think that, of all people, he wouldn't give a damn about the shape of his baby's genitals. However David has made it clear that he NEEDS this baby to be a boy so that something "masculine" comes out of his experience as a pregnant trans man. I don't know. As a nonbinary person this just doesn't sit right with me.
