Status Updates From Olivia Twist

This book is so cheesy, but it's also so much fun.

The repetition is kind of getting annoying. And I really don't feel like this is an Oliver Twist retelling (despite not really knowing the story of Oliver Twist that well). Like it could have been literally about any old street urchins in turn of the century England and worked just as well. I think the pretense of it being connected to Oliver Twist hurts the book more than helps it.

Part of this are kind of confusing (and make it seem like I need to know the original story?), but the tension between these two characters is too good.

Now I'm curious to read Oliver Twist from which this book is inspired.
