Pretty way to describe a minority’s culture and how you can celebrate it. He ties it to his Southern identity and the southern cooking, but he says “you need a homeland” to cook from and about. Just interesting way to put it.

Listening to this story finally through Libby. Southern culture and food. Interesting to hear more of this history and experience of an African American in the South.

this will be, i admit, a difficult book given Twittys zionist leanings. it’s hard to reconcile a memoir of the south by someone that glosses positive for the genocidal tendencies and apartheid practices of a modern state.
