so the main character just got on a bus to go see her dad and she met a random person on the bus

This was powerful, emotional, heart-wrenching, and important. I'm so happy that I read this. I loved Amanda's story and her strength and determination. The last few chapters were extremely difficult to read, and huge TW for homophobia, transphobia, sexual assault, but this was wonderful. My only critique is that the writing wasn't the greatest, but it felt raw and real.

I like this. I like the non-linear timeline.

This book was a great read, a little slow at first, but did not disappoint. It captures the past and the present life of a transgender in such a way that the reader can empathize with the main character. I would recommend this book as a good way to let your mind wander into the "what ifs".

Up to ch28. No betrayal hurts like the one set-up by someone who knows you best.

Up to ch20. Everyone has their hang-ups, and it’s interesting to see how Amanda is slowly starting to tell others the truth. Hearing the past details does help me understand why she is so reluctant to share details with people.

Up to ch17. Really hope Amanda will get understanding, but I fear it’ll be a case of same old same old.

Up to ch13. While Amanda has clearly had a tough time in the build-up this is all seeming too easy. Interesting attempt to raise a mix of views on the topic.

Ch1-3. We meet Amanda when she’s moved to be with her father-new start, but she’s struggling to accept her identity as three years ago she was Andrew. Sounds as if things got very extreme.

I’m already learning so many important life lessons. This book is great so far.

I’ve never been so nervous for a fictional character before. I’m racing through this one because I really want to see Amanda have a happy ending, but I’m very afraid she won’t.

And the tears are coming. This is already pulling at my heart.
