I also feel like the one thing keeping Meg as independent as she is is that everyone thinks she's fragile so they can't grab her or push her around physically. That's just sad.

Humans are difficult to deal with when you can't eat them or bite them. Right. So you're saying you are incapable of dealing with humans. But they have to deal with you. Why does it feel like the mental age of Terra Indigenes is going down every few chapters? Why am I interpreting their annoying habits as being immature? Why do they have to be different in such a "childlish"+"male" way?

I think I get the problem now - they claim they eat humans but when I see a human that should be eaten, they don't bother. All they're doing is getting my hopes up. Tsk.

Right, of course, the 7 year old girl whose mother just died and the prophet who spent her 23 years in prison-hell-compnound are responsible for the incident, Nathan, the older wolf, is the victim. Thank you for pointing that out.

I really, really dislike wolf games. Not necessarily because they are all something a 5 year old might come up with but because they all feel one sided and, to put it nicely, mean. Snatch the hat from a human, chase the human until they they are so afraid they make noises... all games I've seen, if taken without context, would sound like someone being picked on. Wolves having fun while Meg struggles.

So frustrated. Angry. I know there are nuances to the situation but the fact everyone is angry at Meg, whose situation no one else could understand? Them saying it's all her fault? That's just unfair. Why is Meg responsible for everyone being angry?? For doing what her kind does? If Nathan is so useless, he shouldn't be responsible for guarding her. They keep insisting she is a child then expect her to 'know better'.

When a 7 year old is the best and most sensible character in a room... that includes the main character and other important characters. Funny, though.

The problem is that The Others have a huge us versus them mentality. I'd even say they embody it. They might be called the others but everyone else is Other. Different. Bad. That's not an approach of a healthy society. That's the kind of ideology that breeds resentment and hate, starts wars that can never end because both sides are too selfish to bridge the gap between them.

It's so nice of Meg's mental struggles with daily things to appear right when other girls like her are dealing with the same thing.

Simon is being an ass, but he is right and he is making things happen so he is forgiven... for now.
