Still liking the author and the story. Some great parts in this one so far, but still too early to tell.

45%: I can't say enough good things about Luke Daniels narrating Marko Kloos' Frontlines series! I can hardly wait for the 4th one that comes out April 19, 2016.

Fun story, and well narrated Audible. I just binged the first three books and now have to wait for the fourth. Can't wait to read what happens next.

I might have a slight mil-SF weakness

I forgot one detail about this series. The personal communication devices don't feel outdated, although the distances of space hamper them.

A year or so ago, I naively would have thought that the "Russians as antagonists angle" was an outdated Cold War relic. These days, though? I am not nearly so certain.

"...sticks out like a peppercorn in a saltshaker." Very efficient simile. I plan to steal it, although it would be problematic to use it to describe an uncomfortable racial situation.

Starting to get my footing now that we're connecting to character motivations again, but I'm still feeling less enthused with the overall desperate tone.

I remember enjoying books one and two. Maybe I am just not in the mood, because I am skimming with a vengeance and it's all just kind of "war, war, war." It is possible that my tastes have changed.
