Status Updates From Turkey in the Snow

i’m a bit enamoured with hank and completely head over heels for justin.

i’ve been putting off reading this despite it being on my radar due to the title and cover (i thought it might have been a thanksgiving thing, with the turkey? i couldn’t have been more wrong), but i needed a soft, uncomplicated, holiday story, and amy lane hasn’t disappointed me yet. for now, i am quite glad i gave it a chance.

I like normally like Amy Lane's writing but this: “Ohmygah! Ohmygah ohmygah ohmygah!” is driving me crazy...

"...Mrs. Ramirez, this is Justin, he's—"
"Your rain man, isn't he?"
God, I hope so cus Hank is like California right now.

..."Night, Justin," he said softly. "I'm sort of hoping you'll keep on trying."

Hank just wants to give his niece a home. And drama free because Hank hates drama, in walks Justin and all his swish. Justin is a good man and he is there when Hank needs some help. All it takes is one late night talk with Justin and Hank is hooked. Now all Hank needs is for his sister to leave Josie with him and Hank will have his family.

Hank wanted to laugh. It was ludicrous, wasn’t it? Hank was the banker; Justin was the fun guy the kids loved. Hank had the house; Justin lived with his parents. Hank took care of Josie like he’d taken care of Amanda, and Justin… oh God. He was taking care of Hank. He was. He was clutching Hank right up next to him, naked and vulnerable and unafraid in a way Hank had never been

Audiobook

I love it.

I am not feeling the love for Hank right now. I mean blackmailing your ex-boyfriend with work stuff when you are his superior just isn't cool.

This audiobook is lovely!
