The author uses details that effective by showing the scene instead of straight up telling what happened which makes it easier for the reader to picture then to know it. "The cherry-red tip of a lit cigarette glowed in the darkness. It tangled, disembodied, as though held by a ghost". The author describes what the character saw in the bushes and didn't she say the light of a cigarette in the bushes, she visualized it

These books maybe YA but a good thing about it is that its so easy to read and super fast to get through!

This ending was so good!! Can’t wait for the next book. We learned important details in the last chapter:
-Thayer’s back
-He’s a manipulative charmer
-Sutton was involved in a hit-and-run and he was the victim

Ain’t no way Garrrett is upset that Emma is talking to someone else when he started hanging out with Nisha right after he broke up with her. The audacity of some men smh.

Theory #479: Charlotte’s mom is the killer. She was there the night of the sleepover in book #1 and easily could have strangled Emma that night. As for her motive, Charlotte might have confided in her about Sutton’s train prank that almost got everyone killed and decided to take matters into her own hands. Or maybe she’s having an affair with Mr. Mercer and took her out of the picture because she threatened it.

I feel like Mr. Mercer cheated on his wife and Sutton saw. That would explain why he’s lecturing her about not letting that moment stop her from trusting people and why Sutton felt betrayed.

I have another theory. Emma thinks Laurel, Nisha and Mads are innocent because they were at a sleepover. I’m not convinced. It could’ve been a group kill.

Laurel’s character was way more enjoyable in the show

Ethan is talking about how he was bullied in school. I feel like this is a clue. Tbh I feel like everything Ethan says is a clue. He’s very sus. Maybe the reason he killed Sutton was because she bullied him?? Feels too obvious to be the case but maybe

Emma keeps talking about how Ethan isn’t safe because the killer is watching her and told her not to tell anyone else she’s not who she says she is, so he’s in danger by knowing. He doesn’t seem at all concerned and it’s because HES THE KILLER!! OPEN YOUR EYES, EMMA!!!
