Yazarah was born in the West Midlands and raised in a ‘broken home’. She is a psychology graduate and counsellor. Her fascination with the supernatural started young: wondering through woods, watching horror films and drawing witches (instead of princesses!)

Yazarah started writing The Sickness at 12 years old and completed the first draft at 14. Inspired by her religion and fighting for an identity as a British Asian, Yazarah is breaking stereotypes through her writing. Her interest in diverse cultures also features in her writing.

The Sickness is a dark fantasy novel with a twist on vampire lore. It combines the supernatural with the psychological; delving into the dark places of the mind and humanity.
