"I came from the desert."

India LaPlace is a poet and editor from the United States. Born and bred in Utah, she is the oldest of 8 children and was raised by her grandparents. She is a proud wife and mother, always aspiring to be a person with more self-discipline. Generally pleasant, naturally cynical, and easily won over by a good book and a twisted sense of humor. When she isn't writing or editing, she can most often be found at home in Upstate New York listening to podcasts or audiobooks, watching Law and Order: SVU, trying to develop a green thumb, and sharing moments with her daughter and husband.

She still loves Louis C.K. and doesn't believe in political correctness.

Betty Smith
“Dear God," she prayed, "let me be something every minute of every hour of my life. Let me be gay; let me be sad. Let me be cold; let me be warm. Let me be hungry...have too much to eat.
