Emma C Buenen enjoys writing young adult adventure fiction, filled with deeds of high daring and raw courage, set in wild landscapes.

She's an Australian who has travelled to different parts of the world to start schools and to study, has built houses and explored the rugged Australian Outback in an orange Kombi.

As well as writing, she navigates the twisting, turning road of homeschooling children.

Published today!

I'm so happy to tell you that The Raven's Call is live today. It is the first time I've done a pre-order and I am pleasantly surprised. I had quite a few orders and the ARC's were well-received with reviews written and pending.

If you haven't got your copy yet, do it now before the book goes to full price - it is still on the pre-order price for a couple more days!

“Kait placed ahand on Agata's forearm. The grip was firm and warm and the comfort of the roughened brown fingers laced around her arm steadied Agata.
"We only fail when we give up.”

“Yuan opens his eyes. White rabbits wandering all around, poking him, touching him, rubbing their noses at his feet, or merely exploring the thick grass, ignoring his presence. As if showing their appearance alone is enough of a favor. Yuan sees the tiniest rabbit struggling to reach him. One of its legs wounded, and a dark rotten feather sticking to its body. The feather smells of death. There must be a dead bird somewhere.
Dead bird! Why didn’t he smell it earlier? Yuan, removing the feather, stretches his hand towards the rabbit. It hops on, sensing the burst of healing energy. All living creatures always sense what heals their woe—a code in their subconscious.”
Misba, The High Auction

“Into the clearing stepped a man - or so he appeared to be, except this was a creature of unearthly beauty and grace. His height was immense and he exuded such a presence of power and strength that Sambeth shook with effort of restraining a cry of both terror and delight. She knew him at once and the bile rose in her throat. Altor, Earthborn son of the the Fallen One.”

Emma Tamar of Georgia

One of my inspirations in writing Agata, Princess of Iberia. She ruled ancient Georgia at the height of its Golden Age and was a member of the royal Bagrationi dynasty (as is Agata, her fictional forebear).
