Highlander's Bride, by Deborah Gafford
Romance author Deborah Gafford’s Heart of the Highlander Series begins with this high-action historical romance. Alexander MacGregor returns home, disillusioned and weary after his service to his king. But his hardest battle of all may be with his own family. As next in line to become laird, his father gives him an ultimatum; wed a mysterious lass within five days or forfeit his birthright.
When Katherine Gordon is brought to the MacGregor stronghold and presented to a gruff, moody Highlander, whom she is told she must marry, she wants none of him. Vowing not to let his intelligence and handsome looks sway her wounded heart, she seeks to escape before she is forced to learn the treachery of a man's passion. But escape can lead to capture by a new enemy. And capture can mean death.
Highlander’s Bride is the first book in this captivating historical romance series. Set in 1502, in the highlands of Scotland, this beautiful love story transcends time and continents, bringing readers to a past when love, passion and romance blend with duty, valor, and honor.
Caine's Reckoning, by Sarah McCarty (erotica)
he Hell's Eight is the only family he's ever needed, until he meets the only woman he's ever wanted...
Caine Allen is a hardened Texas Ranger, definitely not the marrying kind. But when he rescues a kidnapped woman and returns her to town, the preacher calls in a favor. One Caine's honor won't let him refuse. From the moment he beds Desi, Caine knows turmoil will follow. Desi might have the face of a temptress, but she also has a will of iron and while she needs his protection, she's determined that no man will control her again. They establish an uneasy bond, but it isn't enough for Caine. He wants all Desi has to offer. He wants her screams, her moans, her demands...everything. Yet there's still a bounty on Desi's head, and keeping her sexually satisfied is proving easier than keeping her alive.
"I accepted you as payment on a gambling table, because you're incredibly beautiful, and I want you for the same reason."
His smoldering gaze claimed her long before a poker hand made her his. Tara Brent knew she could never escape this dark and brooding stranger who promised her safety, with a price: marriage and life together in the lush, lethal wilderness of Florida. She didn't even know his name, only the promise of passion, and refuge in his arms.
Jarrett McKenzie swept his ravishing bride away from New Orleans to his remote Florida plantation, determined to uncover the desperate secret from which she ran. He couldn't tell her of his own Seminole roots—or open her guarded heart—until his former commander, President Andrew Jackson, declared war on the Indians, and a powerful enemy from Tara's past found his way to their door.
Runaway, by Heather Graham
The Whip, by Karen Kondazian
Inspired by the true story of a woman, Charlotte "Charley" Parkhurst (1812-1879) who lived most of her extraordinary life as a man in the old west.
As a young woman in Rhode Island, she fell in love with a runaway slave and had his child. The destruction of her family drove her west to California, dressed as a man, to track the killer.
Charley became a renowned stagecoach driver for Wells Fargo. She killed a famous outlaw, had a secret love affair, and lived with a housekeeper who, unaware of her true sex, fell in love with her.
Charley was the first woman to vote in America (as a man). Her grave lies in Watsonville, California.

Hello Heather! I recently discovere3d your books and I immediately fell in love with your writing! I love the paranormal aspects of your stories(like the Harrison Investigations). I haven't read too much of your books yet, but I plan to this summer when I get out of school. I'm an aspiring writer, and going to school for English(most likely editing) this fall, and I'd love to hear any advice you have for a wannabe published writer :) Thanks! -April
Hi Heather! I picked up Queen of Hearts yesterday. School will be out in another week and I am going to attack my TBR shelves. Many of yours I haven't had time to sit and read. Can't wait!
