Десислава Сивилова е родена през 1986 г. в София. Завършва Английска филология и магистратура Превод и над десет години работи като преводач на филми и художествена литература от и на английски език. Свободното си време прекарва в четене – а вече и писане – предимно на фентъзи и фантастика, и на двата езика. Притежава няколко призови места и поощрителни награди от български и международни конкурси за къс разказ и поезия. От началото на 2019 г. се включва активно в издателската и популяризаторската дейност на фондация „Човешката библиотека“.

По-ранните ѝ преводи са подписани като „Десислава Недкова“.
